Something that a lot of people don't seem to grasp is that Oregon is so much more than what's along I-5. The Steens Mtns are absolutly breathtaking, but are often overlooked. They are the highest point in oregon you can drive to and the gorges are awesome to behold. Not only that but they but up with the Alvord Desert, which is an awesome place to play in itself. If i can give one piece of advice while in Oregon, its that a lot of the true beauty doesn't even start until your east of Bend.
