We did Tuscany last year, and noticed there is so much more to see here. So this year we went back to Tuscany but doing a different route.
Smaller towns, different road, a bit more wild camping and just enjoying the scenery.
Wednessday evening ater dinner we went and drove down to Brechtgarten, a gas station and parkspot we know is good to have a night rest.
Around half past one we arrived and slept nicely till around nine.
After breakfast we went and reached our entrance to Tuscany near Parma around five.
It is always fun driving through the Gothard tunnel. An event of around 17km long.
Arriving and setting up camp for the next two days. Reasons are, 1 just slowing down from normal mode into vacation mode. And we forgot the spare keys at home.
They were send to that place and arrived the next day.

Parma is known wordwide for the Parma Ham and Pecorino cheese. And yes, we bought some. We enjoyed a good afternoon in Parma.

After Parma we went into Tuscany and drove on the smallest roads into the mountains. two days of wild camping and enjoying some small villages along the way.

Ongoing story, but dinner for now.

Dinner done, so up for the next part.
After collecting the keys we went countryside and visited some places. A castle and a museum dedicated to the famous, ham, lard, salami and such.
It is a very interesting thing why the Parma ham and cheese were made the way they are.
after some tries to find a camper spot, we ended near a football field in a town and called it the day. Next from us was a convention of Italian Alpine hunters and we knew because the police told us that the next day. Not much to tell about that night.
The next day we did a little breakfast in Barga, as we liked to have a proper toilet and some good italian coffee. Which is not an Americano. hehehe.

that night we were high up in the Tuscany mountains and stopped fairly early so we could make dinner, play with our dog and just had a good time.

The next day after a nice sleep in we went on those little mountain roads again which are so narrow that every corner or turn is exciting as if someone comes from the other side, well, you have to stop and manouver slowly around eachother.
The internet is incredible slow and pictures uploading is like waiting for the bus.
So for all the pictures and the short version of the stories I would say, look here Polarsteps
For now I give up, as this takes for ever.
