  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

We are leaving this afternoon from Lancaster Ohio and heading to the Potts Mountain Jeep Trail in Covington va. Why Interstate it is around a five-hour drive but we are of course taking the slightly more scenic route. Not really doing any off-roading on the way down but we are stopping and doing a wild cave to work at the organ cave in West Virginia tomorrow morning. From there we are heading to the Pines Campground where we will set up camp for the night. Thursday we will be running the Potts Mountain Jeep Trail and from there we will head north east to Ward's the droop Mountain Battlefield State Park in West Virginia, and then we will wiggle our way around the trails and back roads towards gualey bridge West Virginia. From there we will run over to some more extreme trails about 20 miles south of Charleston off of 119.

As of this morning we still need the button a few things up on all three of the vehicles. We have been working virtually Non-Stop trying to get these hunks of junk ready for an 800 mile trip. None of these vehicles have gotten more than about 60 miles in one day put on them so this is going to be a massive test of the mechanical side of these things.
Other than Tools and spare parts for the of ground tents, bedding, clothing in coolers full of lunch meat sandwiches and bottles of water.

We are going to be roughing it in all sense of the term, and I cannot wait until I clock out at 1:30

Donnie and the gang swung by the house this morning to air up and decide on their route today. They happened to pick a road that I have been meaning to check out for some time but chance just hadn't taken me over that way yet. Since it was a quiet morning here I followed them across the mountain into West Virginia and we parted ways in Neola, WV.

Nice to meet you all, maybe I'll have the Xterra up to snuff next year and we can try out Rucker's Gap!

We will definitely be back that way at some point. We found some good road after we parted ways but i want to investigate them farther first.

We didnt do alot of photo worthy stuff bit we did shoot some video that well get posted once we get gome and get it edited.

We are in charleston tonight. No major issues yet but we have some extreme trails to ride tomorrow and still have to get home yet.

Terry again thanks for the hospitality and it was great to meet you.

We survived yesterdays extreme trails with minimal issue.

Sammi had some fuel line damage due to a log that jammed between frame and axle and we quickly got it repaired.

I took out a side glass and both tail lights, and busted the yoke on my 9 inch. Luckily a local had a yoke so i am rolling home today with just cosmetic damage.

We are sitting at 597 miles tallied so far

Hate you took a beating but that does happen. That's the nice thing about 9" axles, parts are plentiful! We had to source a pair of shafts on our last Uwharrie trip on a Saturday morning. Luckly we found some stashed in the rafters of an old timer's shed in his junk yard.
