Are you going to to be camping at the Northwest Overland Expo and interested in camping with other Overland Bound Members? We are hosting a meetup for those interested in a group camp.

For anyone interested in attending the Northwest Overland Rally this year and wish to join us in group camping at the event (and if you have not already RSVP'd) Please do so by Friday the 31st as I need to get a headcount of spaces to the event staff so they can plan space for us. Also let me know if you are purchasing an extra spot for a trailer etc, so that can be counted also. Looking forward to seeing those OB members who make it to the event,

Anyone heading to the Oregon dunes afterward? It will be our first time there, anyone have any campsite suggestions? Special places to visit? I would love it if some of us could get together to pull each other out!

Mike, just wanted to check in... this rally is in Washington and not near the dunes of Oregon... maybe you are thinking about the pnw expo the following weekend in Oregon? I would suggest doing a really point for the dunes and seeing if anyone wants to join you.... more likely to find people that way :)

My wife and i will be there again this year. We will be coming in a little later, we have a small trail to run on the way in.

Are you still camping with the group at the nw overland rally this week in Plain, Wa? If you are, did you buy one space or two? Will you be meeting us on Monroe for the ride over or in Plain?

We are going and have purchased extra camp space. we will possibly meet up with you all in Monroe, we were looking at the quiet section for camping but will see how it all comes together. either way we will meet up.

I have a couple of spaces for the group camp area, but need to know if you would like me to hold them or not, asap, as I will be giving them back to the rally if we won't be using them. would love to have you join us, our group didn't tend to be too loud :)

We will be there and plan to stay with the OB group camping using one spot. We will be coming out later in the afternoon/early evening as I have to finish up a work day and pull the kids out of school. So you Thursday.

awesome, will mark you down for one space. We liked the spot we were in Lat year too, not sure where they are putting us this year. It does sound like things will be a but tighter, that is why i am trying to get a space count.

A big thank you to everyone who attended the NWOR with us this year. It was really nice to see some old friends and make some new ones. We had a great turnout this year and Michelle and I enjoyed visiting and spending time with all of you. With the exception of it being a bit on the hot side for us, we had a great time relaxing around camp. For the first time we managed to keep our wallet in our pocket in vender alley, (well except for the taco truck and shaved ice stand...lol). The nightly raffle blessed a few of our first time attendees with goodness, one of them more than once! We left empty handed this time, but there is always next year:) Most found a class to attend or a trail ride to go on at some point over the weekend. I enjoyed the advanced winch class and learned a thing or two to add to my bag of tricks. One of the highlights of the weekend was the Potluck on Saturday night! an impressive feast was prepared with all kinds of goodness. We had 24 folks in the circle enjoying dinner and conversation. There was a few jealous looks from folks not in our group passing by.. A big thanks to Marianne and Ray for putting on another great event and setting aside space for our group.
Sunday morning Michelle and I packed up and took the long way home as usual. We headed into the woods and did sections 4 & 5 of the WABDR before heading back over hwy 20 and getting home somewhere near 1am. It was a beautiful day and we had the trails pretty much to ourselves other than a Bronco and a couple of dual sports. We have run all of the WABDR in the past, leaving only one short section not completed - The infamous Jungle on section 4. Well check that one off the list, been there done that and don't plan on doing it again...lol definitely lives up to its name. The wrap on Eeyore stood up to the abusive brush far better than expected, but still plenty of pinstripes added. There was a new wildland fire that started up near Carlton, DNR had closed all the main roads, but neglected to close the forest service roads from Chelan, so we popped out right in the middle of the activities. They were pounding on the fire with at least 5 helos and about 10 aircraft. We did spend some time taking photos from a safe location before finishing our adventure.
A dark trip back over Hwy 20 full of deer in the road and one black bear that we were fortunate to not hit..

We look forward to seeing y'all again soon.

One of the few places where showing up wearing the same shirt is totally acceptable.

NWOR had graciously set aside as much space as we need for our group camp for the past couple of years.

Anyone planning on attending the NWOR July 2025 event this year in Plain, WA as a group event? I didn't make it last year but was there in 2023 with the group organized by Over The Hill Overland...
