Hey all!

Just got into a new 2020 Subaru Forester Sport. I'm looking to turn this into a soft overland rig! Currently I've got a Yakima Off Grid rack coming soon and am planning on throwing some KC area lights up there. I've also got some ditch lights mounted up. I'm very excited to see this build evolve!

Anyone have any advice on companies to look at that have products for Subarus? I'm used to my old Jeep, so this is very new to me!

I also am in the market for a Subaru. From all the research I have been doing a good set of tires make a huge difference. My plan for mine when I get it is do Rims, tires and a rack. Might do a lift from ADF.

You definitely need some under body protection. I've been looking into making my own for my 2009 Forester, but buying something that you know will fit right and work without having to make a bunch or alterations is nice. Primitive Racing is a good source.

Thank you for that recommendation! I'm looking into them now

LP Aventure, Anderson Design & Fabrication, Rally Innovations, RalliTek, Primitive Racing. There's probably heaps others but those are all the ones I've been eyeballing for various stuff like lifts (I just installed an LP Aventure lift in my Outback tonight), skid plates, bull bars / light mounts, etc.

Primitive racing skid plates are awesome. And very much needed with the low ground clearance on the Subarus. I had them on my 2010 outback and loved them. ADF is a great company as is Gorilla offroad

I'm also new to this world, great information here! I replaced my tires with Toyo AT3's but i haven't had a chance to use them yet. Literally everything else is stock. Would you all recommend under body protection as my next first real upgrade?

It's not a bad idea for sure, and it's gonna be my next investment personally. Gotta protect those critical components.

Skid plates are the most vital. Keep the under carriage safe and you can still run trail on a mostly stock subaru

How has the new ride treated you since you bought it? Me and the wife are really thinking about getting the sport.

I'm new here and thinking about a Forester. I love the balance it can strike between trails and daily driver. I'm not so concerned about ground clearance, but have been reading the low approach angle can cause some headaches on the trail. Any thoughts or feedback on that? I know it's a terrible comparison, but the other option is a Tacoma. So basically I'm deciding between daily driving comfort and superior off-road comfort...weekend warrior like myself doesn't need much off-road capability, but I also don't wanna be scraping and catching the subie bumper on every rock haha

Very nice Forester. I overland my Outback and most of my items are from Rallitek as well as Diode Dynamics and Rally Innovations.

Iron Man 4x4 America is the only one I know of that has an actual suspension lift. 2" All Terrain Suspension Lift Kit Suited For 2019+ Subaru Forester SK Other companies do make quality spacer lifts, but they give you ground clearance while reducing the suspensions ability to flex.
You can also get rock sliders from LP Aventure. LP Aventure Rock sliders - Subaru Forester 2019-2022 (pair) Ralitek RalliTEK Rock Sliders - 2019+ Forester | RalliTEK.com
Primitive Racing also makes great skid plates. Front Skidplate 2019+ Forester - Primitive Racing
