Hey everyone,

Currently in Saudi Arabia for work and have been watching the YouTube channel for entertainment. Needless to say I have caught the bug and want to get over landing with my wife and daughters to give them a taste of life without electronics being the only distraction.

Currently I have an 06 liberty that's not in amazing shape that I've just been driving. Thinking about either tweaking it a bit and using it as a basic rig for now to get the feel for what I need and don't need and set up my kit. Or I purchase a used 4runner or pathfinder when I get back. Being an ex-mopar mechanic I wouldn't mind getting into a new JL Rubicon diesel when they come out but that's a ways off for me.

Looking forward to meeting new people and slowly start expanding my comfort zone!

Quick update. Decided to not use the liberty and will use my wife's truck as I will be inheriting it from her in the future once she moves on to a new vehicle. It's a 2015 Dodge ram 1500 hemi. Just replaced the worn out stock tires that lasted 70,000kms and got some nice k02s on stock longhouse wheels. I think it looks great. Next up will be leveling kit and lighting as the stock lights on this truck are awful. Attached are before and after shots. IMG_0538.JPG IMG_0537.JPG

Hey @HOTRODSTU77 - a big hearty welcome to Overland Bound! Sorry I didn't see this when you first joined.

London, Ontario, eh? I used to go up there to work the Western Fair years ago and have always enjoyed roaming around the area.

Cool ride; I had a Dodge Club Cab (jump seats facing each other behind the front seats) years ago with a 360 and full length bed with a low camper top on it, and drove it from Maine to San Jose CA and all over in between. Took it on Jeep trails in Death Valley and the works, without problem, even just rear wheel drive. Rugged truck.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours!

Make yourself at home here; lots to see and read.

Let me know if there is anything you need or that I can help you with here,

Thanks Road! Quite possible you were at the western fair while I was there on the rides. Neat! Looking forward to doing some exploring of the great north.

The Labatt's tent was a big hit, I can tell you that. Handsome Clydesdales they have prancing about, too, with the big beer wagon. Overall the fair was always a blast, huge exhibition halls full of all kinds of rural goodness, tons of interesting competitions like the lumberjacks running up and down five story poles, ax challenges, etc. Wow, all of a sudden a ton of memories I haven't thought of in ages.

Let me know if you ever get over to New England or up into the Maritimes and Atlantic provinces, and we can meet up and go cause some trouble somewhere.

You got it. The family will be driving to PEI without me in July. No real overlanding just visiting family. If I was going too I would certainly take you up on that offer. Maybe next time!
