Need Help with Modifying Trailer Suspension in So Cal

First, Happy Holidays to all my OB brothers and sisters!

So I need some help. I have a 2018 VRV trailer that came stock with Dexter Axle #9Torflex. 2000# axle. The frame is alloy with aluminum floor. I have no idea you welding but I do understand alloy/aluminum creates an entirely new set of issues to modify my suspension.

I've been out a few times with the trailer and it bounces like there is no tomorrow. Not a safe suspension setup. I want to take it out more on the trails we do (Joshua Tree, Anza Borego, Coyote Flats, etc...) but not with the setup.

Does anyone know where or who I can contact to swap out my suspension to something off-road capable? I am open to to ideas (leaf springs, or others). I love the trailer and has great features....just not the suspension. Hope someone can help and thank you in advance!

I have not. But will Monday. Good idea. I see lots of options but not sure if the alloy frame will be compatible. But then again, I currently have Dexter installed now so not sure why another Dexter option will work, as you said. Great point. Thanks buddy!

I have the same #9 Dexter axle on my teardrop trailer. Watch your tire wear, as my axle had an internal mechanical failure. The combination of uneven tread wear and excessive vibration clued me in to the problem. Dexter offers a warranty, but only if you’re the original owner of the trailer.

Somehow, as I am told, I bent the driver's side spindle on my 2017 Tag Max XL How you bend this big piece of honking metal on a flea weight trailer, I will never know.
