Need help choosing a 4Runner!!

I am new to overlanding I have never done it I haven’t even bought my first rig. I am currently located in Texas but will be moving near Tacoma, Washington in a few weeks. I’m looking to buy a 4Runner nothing new but something 1990s and down. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nice!!! I just bought a 3rd Gen my self, I took my time and waited patiently for a clean body and frame. (No rust). I figure the guts are going to be easier to come by. The first gens are going up in price, and are becoming more rare. I’m not sure if it’s worth it. The second gens I’ve read have potential issues with rust in the tailgate. Not sure but you might find a better deal in Texas as it seems the AWD/4X4 market in the north west as everyone seems to have one. Not to mention cool diesels coming down from Canada.

It’s tough if you don’t know what you’re going to specifically use it for and where you want to go. Good luck!!!
