US Northwest My Emily Summit day trip and picnic

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Glad to see the smoke is starting to clear. We are coming through that area next weekend on our trip back to Idaho. Right now thats pretty much the only way east thats open right now. Looks like a great time, might have to organize a southern Oregon picnic meet up

They had one two weeks ago on Huckleberry Mountain.
Look me up when you come through La Grande, we can do a quick coffee, or lunch.

Thank you everyone for coming. I can’t take all the credit, @JL Lou had gotten a hold of me and wanted me to put something together spur of the moment. Luckily I have a few day trips in my bag to pull out.

Thanks to @St0ll3n for joining us on short notice. It was great to have you along pointing out some amazing trails... even if you did get us lost :).

@4Wheelexplorer it was nice meeting you and your family. It’s always nice to see families on the trails. I thought for sure we were going to have to drag your dodge sideways to make the turn.

And last but not least @Geotaco, what a great rig. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more of you around the forums. Glad you joined us. MF isn’t that far from here, if you ever get an itch and want to get out for a day, weekend, or what ever; shoot me a message. I love setting this stuff up on the fly.

To all that couldn’t make it, I will start planning on more of these kinds of adventures on a more regular basis. I will be starting Rigs And Coffee back up in October. I just need to hammer out some details on reserving a location.

Again, thank you everyone for showing up

La grande is a ways off, normally we would head towards diamond lake and then up to bend then across the desert. But as it sits now all the passes are closed except I 84 heading east

They aren’t all closed... you can still come up the desert on the east side of the Steins and jog over into Nevada and up into Caldwell, ID... or where ever you are trying to make it in Idaho...
