Moving to NC

  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Hey All! Moving to NC right before the start of camping season this year. Looking for some advice on areas to explore, any groups to join, and general area info. Will be in the Fayetteville part of the state!

First, I'm sorry. Haha

Lived there on base for 5 years, didn't get around to too many outdoor adventures there but Gulches ORV Park in SC and Uharrie there in NC was pretty fun. Went out on a nice weekend and explored for a day.

What I can tell you are some amazing places to eat. Crazyfire Mongolian Grill in Fayetteville, and Siiti just North of you in Raleigh. Look them up!

Only 2-months late to this but better late than never!

Looks like everything is middle west in the state for the most part, but I will still be closer to the mountains than I am now! Uwharrie looks interesting. Really looking forward to exploring those mountains!

Thanks for the restaurant suggestions! I will absolutely be sampling those!
