Morale Patch Collecting

Mine are a collection of things I’ve purchased that came along with. Some places, some groups I was a part of, and some that are just giggle worthy.

Look at that awesome patch up top.

Currently contemplating badge locations.

I'm new to this thread (and the community) and I'm looking to start my collection. Among other things, I want to collect patches for the National Parks and Forests I visit. Does anyone know if there is an "official" vendor for these? I've found lots of random sites and Etsy vendors that sell them, but I'd prefer to get them from a source that has the blessing of the NPS/NFS, ideally where some of the proceeds go to those services.

Thanks!
Kris
Hey. Why not grab a patch from a gift shop from the location you’re in and have some hook sewn onto it ‍♂️

Being a NEWBIE to overlanding, how do you get those patches to stick to your headliner? It looks like they were embroidered on there. Looks great!

Most headliners are kinda naturally "fuzzy," so the hook side of the velcro on the back of the patches just sticks to it naturally. I find they need a little persuasion because the headliners usually aren't quite as fuzzy as velcro loop panels, so I give kind of a little back and forth twist as I push them on and it seems to do the trick.

Thanks! I will check out my headliner as it is not something I have noticed….

Patches!, Patches!, that’s a lot of patches. I’m sure they have a lot of memories connected to them. Nice collection.

They do have great memories. Some not so much. LOL. It's a great way to take your mind off a bad day. Just rock the seat back and take a look.

Wow, that´s a nice collection. I see a patch reminding you of your time in Germany, right?

Oh yeah. 6 years in Stuttgart. Lots of climbing, mountineering, qualified for the National Ski Patrol. Thousands of miles of exploring and many camping trips. Amazing adventure.

I’ve spent some time in Germany(NATO). Did a lot of hiking, backpacking and snowboarding. The place I liked most was Chamonix France.

I was disappointed to find that Velcro did not stick to the headliner of my '16 Outback, no matter what I tried. Instead, I collect pins and have stuck them in my headliner. Seemed a little dangerous at first, but I haven't had any fall out even on the trail. Even so, what's life without some danger. I'll post a pic when I can.

I was looking at doing that, but I am also concerned about the headliner becoming loose. I think the pins are the best idea so far!!
