Mobile Hotspot for Internet

What is your go to device for being out in the middle of nowhere and connecting to the web if any, been looking at international travel devices that basically you buy or rent the unit......

My issue is most do not detail what networks they use, heck if ya cant get cell ya aint getting hotspot.......Maybe Sat is the way to go?

Have you looked at the satellite plans? They are extremely expensive. Google FI uses a few different networks (T-mobile, Sprint, US Cellular) but would require buying a cheap phone you can use as a hotspot. There is another similar provider (can't remember the name) but as you mentioned if provider A doesn't work where you are provider B generally doesn't either.

I have an InReach for text messaging and emergency use.

When I don't have cell service where I camp I am just forced to get off of the internet and enjoy the outdoors. It's awful....

If you require some media consumption just pre-download movies. Some how we survived the 70's, 80's, 90's without being constantly connected.

You can hit the Google to find Sat Hotspot
Rentals but they are expensive. Don’t stream anything and turn off images in your browser.

I have a work provided Verizon Jet Pack hotspot that works surprisingly well out here in the west. It was spotty at best in the Chicago area. We have been surprised by how many nights we have been able to listen to Pandora while camping this year. Better than 85% of the nights.

I’ve got the Jet Pack as well that supports 5G. Works well. I use it while traveling when I don’t kids to use my hotspot on my phone.
