We are planning a June Moab trip with a focus on off roading. Looking at Fins and Things and Hells Revenge. We are planning on tent camping and want to have a spot where my 3 kids (2,4, and 7) can play on rocks as the sun goes down. Any tips on a campground that would be a fun place for kids to hang out at but also is somewhat close to Moab itself?

It is going to be hotter than snakes, I would go for one of the dispersed sites on the river going out of town on Kane creek blvd.

Drive up into the las sal's temps are easily 10 to 15 degree's cooler at night and it's only about 25 min to a camp site.

your going to want to place your tent right into the creek or river around that time of the year.

Just got back from Moab. Head on top of Longs Canyon.
Amazing views of Long Canyon and unfortunately we had front-row seat to watch the LaSal's peak burn because some douchebag left a fire unattended.
Still amazing and still so friggin hot.
Great place to camp.
