My plan was to go to Death Valley but the latest snow storm knocked out the power in some spots and the snow level was reported to be 3’ in the higher elevation.
so instead I decided to head over to Trona Pinnacles for the night. Dec 2019

Next stop, Mojave Road, the weather was perfect and the sunsets were awesome. Didn’t care so much for the Mojave Mud. My next trip was to Usal Beach July 2020. The place was pretty crowded and we only stayed one night.

My next stop, West Branch Campground in the Klamath National Forest. The camp ground looked abandoned and hardly used. Only one other vehicle drove threw the campground in the two days we stayed. Unfortunately I found out the campground was burned in the Slater Fire in September 2020.

During the Great Depression the Civilian Conservation Corps built a camp here for the crews building the Greyback Road. Later it became a fire guard station and camp for fire crews and finally a public campground. The 10 family campsites are scattered along the West Branch of Indian Creek. There is lots of shade and camping guidebooks refer to it as quiet, secluded and tranquil.
