I got my tech ticket in June. My brain works in the mechanical realm, so when it comes to things electronic, it's all magic to me.

There seems to be very limited in-person radio club activity with all the covid1984 restrictions.

Are there any Elmers on here in the WV eastern panhandle/ NOVA/ MD area that would be willing to help a newbie out?
I have a FTM 400 and still trying to figure out APRS and some of the other features. Part of it is I'm wondering if I'm just in a bad reception area in my driveway and signal just isn't getting out/ in.

@John Bishop
Hopefully you can find someone out that way to help you.
Regarding APRS, the two closest digipeaters are near Charles Town, it's only 20' off the ground so it doesn't get great distance showing only 10 miles and near Morrisonville (he had a pretty nice tower, but not sure how high up the antenna for his digipeater is).
You could very well and likely are in a spot with poor digipeater coverage.
