Hello OB members. I am from southwest Virginia near Bristol VA/TN line. My rig is a 1986 4Runner with 4.5" lift, 35" tires, CVT tent. Plans to re gear, install sliders, bumpers, and fender flares. Member of Overland Tennessee.

Welcome! I'm originally from Elk Creek, up near Wytheville. I worked at the potato chip place off exit three for a few months and still occasionally get down that way when traveling through. Haven't done much of the beaten path though.

Howdy buddies,
New the community, and happy to be here. A couple coworker members said this is the place to be. The runs sound like a blast and I want to go next year, so I joined. Thanks for having me! I hail from the central coast of Ca. and you might find me riding around in a '13 Xterra Pro4x, or we might be somewhere on the coast in our 5th wheel. She's a new Xterra to me, my '02 Xterra was a 2WD and I decided it would be easier/better to buy an entire new one, instead of trying to upgrade the old one ;).. funny how that works.

Cheers!

Hey my name is Rob

Location: Northern Illinois
Rig: 2003 Toyota 4Runner
Experience: I am a beginner to overlanding, I just bought my 4runner a few weeks ago and hope to start getting involved with this community. Really want to do a trip out west this coming summer. I did a trip from Chicago to Pheonix a year ago with a friend of mine and that is kind of what got me started wanting to get more into it.

Hey everyone,

New to the forum and a new OB Member! Just placed my order.

My name is Doug Kramer.

Met a few of the local group yesterday (1/29/17) at a meet in West Linn. Had a great time!

I am an Eagle Scout and have been on lot of adventures with and without vehicles. I have lived in Portland, Oregon for about 6 years now and really looking to explore some more of it - Going to Crater Lake for the first time this weekend. I've lived in CA, CO, NE, and MN but spent most of my exploring days in CO.

I have a 2005 Toyota 4Runner. I have mainly used it for day trips and a few camping expeditions. I would like to do more camping this summer and explore what Oregon has to offer.

Looking forward to meeting a lot of you. Here are a couple picture of my rig.

Hi all,

This looks like a great place to set up camp and I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

I live in North Georgia. I drive a 2014 Jeep JK Rubicon, it is the fourth Jeep I've owned. I've had other off road vehicles to include a LR Series III, but I always seem to come back to Jeeps. I've backpacked and overlanded for years before I even knew it was called overlanding. Thing is, I'm always learning. I'm experienced, but far from expert ... I consider myself a "work in progress."

Stay safe out there!

Hello fellow OverLanders!

Well after reading these forums on-and-off for a while I finally decided to get my act together... member 3622 checking in ! :grinning:

Located in the Deep Cove area of North Vancouver, the family and I travel around in a 2014 4Runner - look for the badge to be added as soon as it arrives! This is my 3rd off road capable vehicle - 1980 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (yes it was a Woody!) and before the 4Runner a 2010 Tacoma . Although I have not much in Overlanding experience, I have done a fair share of back-country camping.

With our girls now at the age where they are excited about being outdoors, it's time to get them enjoying it every way we can, especially since our oldest wants to visit the Yukon!

Look forwarding to learning lots and sharing lots along the way...

I wrench, and have for the past 20yrs, 10 of those as a career. To catch you up to speed, I had a fully built rock crawler years ago and it was stolen. Lost my taste in the 4wd world for a while. Bought a new Harley in May of 2014, and was hit by a 17yo on her phone 2/1/15. With the 2yr anniversary tomorrow, 13 surgeries under my belt and not being done with my recovery, it has done many things to me, and one is getting back into the 4wd scene. Things change, and the "life flashing right before your eyes" feeling I had (with a fiance and our now 3yo) I had to get off the bike(s) and slow down. Make sure I'm there for my family, and start the camping adventures that I desire to take them to along our journey of life. That's basically the short story, and I might also I can't walk much, use a cane most of the time, and anything that isn't flat is difficult. Otherwise I'm slowly getting back to being out and about, and getting some things done myself on my rig. Ohh, the rig. Her name would.be LaFawnduh, my 96' FJZ80 Land Cruiser (Napoleon Dynamite), as she's lanky and has a big ol' butt! I bought her in stock trim 4/16, and with the help of some really good buddies she's now sporting a 7" lift, all new suspension, gearing, wheels & tires (37" Toyo MT's), seats, bumpers, a 12,000k lb winch, on-board air compressor, the list is long, and she runs like a champ, I'm ready to hit some trails and campsites this summer hopefully. As mentioned, I'm in Sacramento, so the greater Central coast, up to the greater Tahoe region are the areas I frequent, and really prefer to hit as I know them the best. I always like to hit new trails as well, and when I'm down to go, it's usually a 3-4 day weekend trip. I've run the Rubicon trail somewhere between 10-12 times over the past decade and it's by far my favorite. Deer Valley also is a great couple nights away from the mess we call life, and so peaceful. I'll probably start a thread for my OB adventures as well.
Thanks for reading!
Phil
