New Members,
Welcome to the Overland Bound community! Please take a few moments to introduce yourself so we can get to know you!
A few things you might want to include in your introduction are:
1) Picture! If you have a rig, we want to see it!
2) Location (General area is fine)
3) Rig (Year, Make, Model, etc.)
4) Overlanding Experience Background (Novice or Experienced, you're welcome here!)
We're glad you've found us and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!
In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:
From @administrator
- Overlanding is: "Vehicle Dependent Travel". Nothing else.
- We will not further define "overlanding".
- "Capable" depends on the requirements of the trip, and we take that very seriously.
- You are an Overlander: Overlanding is for everyone who has exploration and adventure in their heart, or, who need to be reinvigorated by connecting with nature. Nature is unforgiving. You must rise to a certain level of personal awareness to survive. Sound right? Overlanding is for you.
- Encourage uncomplicated ventures into the great outdoors. Don't over pack.
- Be prepared, and understand basic requirements. Question folks, to be sure they are aware of what is required. Don't assume.
- Share without reservation, trip locations, and information.
- It doesn't matter what you drive: The only requirement of an Overlander is that the vehicle serves the job required, safely.
- We do not care about make or model.
- We do not engage in "this is better than that" competitions.
- We DO give advice about how to make your vehicle ready for what you need. Share knowledge.
- Humility.
- We respect, fear, and protect nature.
- "I don't know" is a great answer.
- We don’t brag about exploits.
- We seek answers from the community when we don’t know.
- We engage in the very smallest of interactions.
Greetings everyone my name is Joseph I am a new member, I guess you can say I'm one that's getting back to nature I'm 51 but on disability since 2008, the vehicle I have is a 1999 Yukon Denali I bought it years ago and the upgrades I've done you cannot see it, 350 crate motor, transmission, upgraded front and rear differentials from 8.25 to 8.50 so I could handle more off-road and tow more, I've also upgraded the transfer case so I guess you could say the important parts have been replaced, yes I do have a lift in mind and different tires but as it is I'm just going with what I could afford at the moment I'm looking forward to meeting more of you and enjoying what time I have left, although if anybody knows where to get aftermarket parts for a Denali that would be nice, there's aftermarket parts for Yukon and Yukon XL but once you say Denali nobody has parts lol, anyways I'm in southern Nevada and town called Pahrump just outside Las Vegas on the California border.

Hello Everyone,
My wife and I are honored to be a part of this forum as new members. We are based in Colorado and are both 4th generation Colorado natives. We have hiked, hunted, climbed, skied, explored, and 4-wheeled nearly every inch of our home state and most of the western U.S. over the last 50+ years of our outdoor experience. Our current rig is a 2020 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison outfitted with an AluCab Canopy Camper, and many custom built-out features. You can see our build in the Build Forum here:
We look forward to getting to know many of you and hopefully seeing some of you on the trail!

Hey!
The names Jess, I live in Upstate New York I'm 28 years old and I purchased a Frontier this year with the plans of starting to do some overlanding. I just started work as a software engineer and with my new job I have a lot of freedom of movement which brought me here. I haven't made any modifications to my vehicle at this time, and my camping experience has been limited to mostly day hikes with some overnight trips. Looking to connect with people nearby who are more experienced and get to know some new people in my area.

Hello JP, Welcome to Overland Bound.Hi I’m JP, I drive a Toyota Tundra Crewmax. I live in Vancouver WA and enjoy exploring WA and Oregon. Love finding small lakes to kayak on.
I am the Northwest Director. @OTH Overland and @Big G are your closest member representatives. I currently don’t have a member representative in the greater PDX area.
To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).
Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.
Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.
Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.
Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.
Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.
Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.
Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails.

Hello! Been owner of this 1994 FZJ80 for 15 years. Was our everyday driver for 8 of those. Became the snow and surf wagon. Been bringing her up to snuff with allot of overdue maintenance, body and paint, a 4" lift, 33" tires on stock powder coated rims. Slee short bus front bumper. Still waiting on the rear. I'm an avid mountain biker, love camping, but relatively new to the off road/overland scene. Learning!

Hello Arne, welcome to Overland Bound.Hello!
My name is Arne and I‘m from Hamburg in Germany.
I bought an LR4 (called „Discovery 4“ over here) about three years ago. After lots of repairs I did my first overlanding trip (to Norway) this year and it was such a great experience!
I just singned up here and I’m looking forward to connect with this great community sharing the same interests.

New to this forum... Been camping in my 24ft RV and got back spending June out at our NP (Badlands, Black Hills/Rushmore/Crazy Horse/Devil's Tower), Yellowstone (got there right when things were closing for the flooding and did an audible and headed north to Glacier), Grand Tetons, Great Smoky) and I live out in OBX. I did a solar/inverter/LiFEPo4 setup on the RV that worked out really great. Did primarily Harvest Host locations for that month with an occasional campground in order to empty tanks.
Switching my camping from the 24ft RV to an overland setup that I'm starting to build out. I got a M1102 military trailer that I use for my "beach cart" - living out here in OBX, NC and I'm on my fifth Bronco (currently own a 68, traded in my MY21 and now a MY22 (other two were a 1994 and a 1995 and gone)). I'm leaning more for a RTT on the M1102 and the MY22 as my tow vehicle. Many more pics and info to come!
