I’m late to the party! I’ve been into camping and over landing for a few years now, but I’m just now joining here. My name is Brandon, and I go by @overlandmammal on Instagram. I’ve got a 2018 Duramax ZR2 and I couldn’t be happier with it. After owning a tepui softshell tent a few years ago, I’ve finally pulled the trigger on a Falcon XL by Roofnest after researching options for years. I picked it due to already owning a Leitner ACS, and it’s similar mounting system; it’s a match! Grabbing this nest now felt like the right time, since getting away for a few days at a time felt like the only way I could pacify my itch to travel due to obvious current circumstances. I’m out of Austin, constantly river running with my girlfriend and our 5 dogs, and I’m excited to find and connect with others near me!

New guy Neil here.

I've been overlanding since the late 80s but it wasn't called that then. My new rig, 2021 4runner will be my first dedicated overland vehicle.

I've done a couple of mods already, ie: pulled down the armrest in the back, adjusted the seat and added a molle panel for the driver seat. Other than that its bone stock.

In going to drive it that way for awhile before doing anything major. Figure out what it can do before making it better.

In in the east valley of Arizona.

Hello, my name is Tim, I grew up camping and adventuring but like many others, life got in the way of adventures that didn’t involve children or work. now I am older and ready to travel and adventure again and I think overlanding will be a lot of fun.

I live in rural Kansas.
My vehicle is a 2010 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 (several new upgrades coming soon)
Experience: avid off-roader/camper in my younger days. Looking forward to new overlanding adventures soon.
Welcome from NE Oklahoma

John! How you been? When are we going to hit some trails again?

Yesterday afternoon I ran into the couple in the green JK that we met on the trail above Copper City, the ones that told us the trail was blocked. Apparently the guy is a high school friend of one of my friends... small world.

Dustin my friend. Good to hear from you! So cool about the Copper City guy.. Chris and I went back to the same trail a week later but we only went as far as the mine. It was just us, so didn't what to chance it. We camped at Granite lake which was supper cool. And yes!! We need to meet up again and do some trails.

Cheers!!

John

Hello Neil (@HalfMoon ), welcome from Oklahoma.
Kent already covered my typical links so I will just add that pre-pandemic we had monthly meet ups around Tucson and Phoenix, those have been suspended but keep an eye out for updates.
Also, Overland Expo West will be May 14th-16th and held in Flagstaff and would be a great event to get some build ideas and look at gear.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi y’all!
I’m Nate and I’m from South Carolina. I’ve got an 09 F150 that my uncle sold me. It’s only 2wd but I’m curious to see what she can do lol. She’s got the 4.6 V8 with only 26k so she’s basically brand new!

First day as a member so I thought I would get on here and show everyone the rig. The rig is a 2020 Ford Ranger that I hope to build up to a nice overlanding and camping vehicle for my family. We moved to Western Massachusetts last year from New York so we are new to the area and looking forward to getting involved with this community.

Hi! I'm Robert, from Long Island. I overland, and off-road in a 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring. I love getting out into the middle of nature, often with my photography gear and other equipment I wouldn't want to hike a couple hundred miles (wow, our National Parks are gorgeous!), so, I've been making my Ascent more overland suitable for my progressively more complex or longer adventures. Most of my longer adventures have been out west (I'm especially fond of Moab).

I'm currently working on a seemingly never ending to-do list, such as getting and installing a fridge/freezer, in bumper winch, water tank (roof rail mounted), and figuring out the best storage solutions for all my gear. Always trying to learn more, and find new things that will work for me and the adventures I plan. I'm also a Subaru Ambassador, so, I'm very much into the tenets of Leave No Trace, and packing in<->packing out and am working towards achieving that easier (just got a spare tire mounted trash sack, to start). I could do without trash bags in the car, lol.

Hey everyone, Prof. Yeager (Jason) here from Columbus Ohio. I grew up in rural Ohio, moved to Tennessee for a few years and then back to Ohio. I would say that I have intermediate experience with overlanding and off-roading, since we grew up (and still do) trail riding, hunting, hiking on our family property and state/national parks in Ohio, Tennessee and other parts of the US.

I just picked up a 2019 Toyota Sequoia SR5 as my next build since we have a large family. This isn't my first off-road build, but it is my first build with overlanding in mind so any advice would be great. Glad to meet all of you and happy trails.
C-BUS!!!!...my second home!....If you need any work done on your rig up there hit up D&R Motors. They are really good friends of mine and do a lot of offroad and overland stuff. You'll see when you pull up!....They know Toyotas better than anybody. Tell them I sent you.
