Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Been part of the crew for a few weeks, here is our rig. We just painted it white and are redesigning the roof rack at the moment. It is a 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0 with the 5speed and 4x4. It’s sitting on a 2.5in lift and 31in Duck Commander All Terrains. The lightning is Auxbeam 12in Lightbars and two Auxbeam Pods. The emergency lighting is a Feniex system with Feniex T3s and a 4200mini control unit. The front bumper is a Smittybuilt Jeep bumper retrofit to the Ranger in house. The rear bumper and backrack/roofrack were custom built for this truck also in house. Rock sliders are also being designed and built in our shop. Also are about to start designing a rack for the bed to hold an awning and a RTT. We will be making a list and taking pictures of all our kit on board in the spring. Let us know what you think!!

You obviously have experience in fabrication so I'm looking forward to seeing your build. Welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
As far as the questions go:
1) I don't have the picture of my rig yet. Had the engine go out, so I'm debating whether I should rebuild the engine or get a crate motor.
2) New Braunfels, Texas
3) 1987 Chevy Blazer K5
4) My Overlanding experience is moderate. I am a former Marine with the job title of 3531 Motor Transportation. So I did quite a bit of overlanding in the Yuma Desert (and surrounding areas) and in Missouri. I also go overlanding with my ATV.

Looking forward to continuing to learn and watching the videos you guys put out.

Hello Stacy,

Nice Jeep. We have a 1994 Grand Cherokee that we keep at our place in Baja. It's been a great vehicle & has always gotten us in & out of where ever we wanted to go.

We were just in your neighborhood at the end of July, & I'm sooooo dying to go back. What a beautiful place. I'd love to take a few weeks and explore the surrounding area.

How are yall doing? I'm Archie, I've been thinking about joining for awhile and finally did it.
1. it pretty much looks like a standard truck nothing to get excited about
2. Tuscaloosa, Alabama for now
3. 2011 GMC Sierra 2500. its been a great truck and I've taken it on plenty of trips but its time to build a real adventure vehicle instead of just throwing gear in the bed and heading out. I'm looking get something new at the end of the year and hopefully I will have narrowed down my options by then. So far I've mainly realized that I wish those of us in the US were able to get trucks from the Australian market
4. plenty of experience living out of tents, cars, boats, or pretty much whatever is available in most climates and conditions from summer on islands off the coast of Panama to winter in rural Alaska. but I'm a novice as far as the real offroading goes. I've had plenty of fun driving in the desert and gravel roads, but when it gets to the technical stuff I have a lot to learn
This looks to be a great community. I'm excited to learn what I can, and contribute if I can.

Hi folks. I'm Ruben. I love nature, solitude and adventure, and I'm in the East SF Bay area with my wife and 3 and half year old.

For just about as long as I've been able to (legally) drive, I've been prone to just getting and driving out of town. No destination in mind. Just wanted to go. Now, I'm 39 with a family, and suddenly I notice virtually all my friends who I used to spontaneously get away with have either moved, are too busy with work, or have 2wd vehicles. Which means it's always only my wife, son and I when we go camping in the back country. So - it would be great to meet some new folks to share the good times with. Especially families with little kids. My son is very social and energetic, so having other kids his age to play with would be great. I also want him to experience as much of the outdoors as he can while he's at this very formative age.

I've had a few trucks over the years, mostly Toyotas, all decently equipped. But, there was a gap of several years when I only had a 2wd vehicle. Now I have a 3rd gen Tacoma DCSB OR. I'm not convinced it's the right truck, but it's the closest thing on the US market to what I need. Soon adding ADS coilovers and rear shocks with OME springs in the back. I wanted an 80 or 100 series landcruiser, almost imported a diesel actually! But, with the family I decided to go with modern safety features.

So that's my intro!

Hello Everyone! My name is Chris. I from Indianapolis but currently live in Denver Co. I'm pretty new to the world of overlanding but have always been an avid traveler/explorer. I recently purchased a 2017 SR5P Toyota 4Runner and love it! I'm looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully exploring some new places with some of you!

Hello Chris and welcome to the OB crew. .great looking Toy and look forward to seeing your build and adventures

Hello! I am Ted from Grand Rapids, MI. My Overlanding experience is NIL, however I spent a lot of time "camping" in the military. I am an experienced camper and just upgraded to a Rockwood 2104S. Which will not be taken overland. My "rig" is a 2007 Grand Cherokee with 4 to 5 inches of lift and a snorkel and lots of other upgrades/aftermarket parts. I am fairly experienced offroading but am now combining the two. First trip is planned with some other WK/XK owners for the U.P. here in Michigan. Would like to chat with anyone else that has done the U.P.190.JPG 12417536_600494790100833_1908321670476435800_n.jpg

Welcome Ted. I also like the swimming pics. Nice rig. Pretty much sounds like the military gave you some overlanding experience.
