Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Hello. I'm on several other 4x4 / Overland forums, figured I would at least set up an account here. Unfortunately it does not seem you have many members local to me, but should things pick up at least my foot is in the door.

I am acquainted with a member you have near Cincinnati, not sure if he uses the username I'm familiar with here, but he gave you a good word.

I drive a 2011 Nissan Xterra PRO-4X, not significantly modified in most aspects that matter.

And photos. RTT installed this weekend. Awning going on soon as it comes off back order.

Welcome to the community. I built an Xterra years ago. One of the better vehicles I have owned over the years. Yours is beautiful. What RTT is that? I will be in the market here soon.

South Central Kentucky.
Depending where in south central KY, I may have been in your area a couple of weeks ago. I was in Florida for a month, and came back via 75 --> 24 to Nashville --> 64 to Louisville, and then home.

We want get back down there on the spring or fall to do the Whiskey Trail (before or after the crowds), Mammoth Caves, Boonesboro, If you're further east, it looks like Daniel Boone National Forest is huge and should have lots of places to explore. Plus going southeast of you are all the national parks and forests around GSMNP. Compared to me, you have a wealth of places to go.

Hi all my name is dan and I'm a completely new to the overland scene.
I've got a toyota landcruiser colorado which I love and I'm pretty sure it's capable of getting me to some nice places.

I enjoy reading about everyone's adventures and hope to do some myself very soon.

I live in the UK and normally use my landcruiser for greenlaning.

Here's a couple of pics anyway

Thanks dan.

Hey Dan,
I haven't been here long myself, but welcome to the group.
Can you explain to me what you mean by Green laning? I assume it is driving on 4x4 routes, but it's not a good idea to assume. Anyway that is a serious deep water crossing. I'm impressed.

Hi bob.
Yes it's driving on the byways around the UK.
They're roads which aren't used anymore but have rights of way on them.
They can get pretty rough at times but it's all good fun.

Thanks the water crossing was taken last weekend in Thetford

Hi Dan, and welcome to the Overland Bound forum! That's a nice submarine you have there!

You might be interested in some of @Robert OB 33/48's greenlaning stories and videos here: http://www.overlandbound.com/forums/index.php?threads/robert-greenlane-stories.43/

@Bob They don't have the wide open spaces in Europe and Great Britain that we do here. Many of their routes are old (ancient) trails that now go behind and between people's homes. Some date back to Roman days! Take a look at some of Robert's photos to see what they have available.

I will take a look at Robert's posts, I don't think I have heard that term before though. I do have a lot of family in Belgium, but I don't think that any of them do overlanding or green laning. Thanks,to you and Daniel for educating me.

Just a few pics to give you the general idea of our lanes

Dan,
That would be so much fun to do. Not the same as our local desert trails, of course.
I will try to talk my brother in law, in Belgium to get some kind of 4x4 vehicle, so the next time we visit we can go to the Ardennes or someplace to green lane. But I don't think I will have much luck, his idea of a fun time is going to a nice restaurant. Thanks for posting the pics, I really liked them.
