Hey folks,

Looking at ideas or recommendations of where to place the main body of my ham radio. I do not want it under the seats because I don't want a chance of it getting wet. I'm running a 2015 JKU, I'm hoping not to have to use extension lines but it might be a thing... Thanks in advance

Behind the knee panel below the steering column, there should be enough room for the body.
There is also a pass through on either end of the dash under the end covers thst go through to the engine bay. They are filled with foam but a wire hanger works well to fish the wires through.

Mine didn't have a removable face, so I mounted the whole thing up by the mirror.

Just the body could be mounted behind the drivers knee panel or behind the passenger glove box.

There is a lot of dead space inside the center console… not the storage area, but the framework area… you might be able to fit it in there

Aside from the drivers knee panel area the other popular hidden in dash location for the JK is in the dash next to the side access panel that you can easily pop-out and pop back in. I can't remember if there is ample space on both sides or just one of the dash sides though.

With a long extension, behind the passenger's side tail light is actually a great deal of space and easily made water tight with a little silicon.
