M1102 fuel basket

All,

One thing that I believe is critical is to carry extra gas and propane. My thoughts for the M102 additions/modifications are the following:

1) Carry gas and propane outside of the trailer (front or back). Front is my preference for weight, balance, and potential rear-end impacts
2) Carry two(2) Septer cans for gas (~ 10 gal.) and two(2) 20lb. propane cylinders.
3) Modify the front trailer tongue by removing the stabilizer legs and associated brackets (more on that later).
4) Build a platform to support the Septers and the propane (layout is TBD).

Thoughts?

I'd agree that the front of the trailer makes a lot of sense. That really is a lot of fuel and propane though!! lol

Currently full of brush and limbs. Looks like hell. Will post later.

Did add a series of E-track tie-downs to exterior and modified the stabilization legs.

Looks heavy, what are you pulling it with? What is the tongue weight loaded?

Not real heavy (see placard pic). Weighs less without the HMMWV wheels. New wheels match truck.
Entire body is aluminum with pintle/lunette ring hitch.

Pulling with 2016 Silverado 2500 HD 4x4.

This will NOT be rock crawler. More of a highway/rough road expedition rig
