I've got a 5'x10' that I want to use for Overlanding...

Screen Shot 2016-09-09 at 2.59.51 PM.png

It would be a "basecamp" trailer. Just a place to carry gear, water, fuel, bicycles, a fat tire mini bike, and maybe a canoe (overhead). I'm going to move the axle under the leaf springs (for clearance), change out the fenders, and put on two 33x10.5 KM2s I had left over from my recent tire upgrade.

Anybody else do something like this? Tent? Awning? I'm looking for ideas.

image.png Update: Installed rack for canoes, and awning. I built it out of 1.5" Speed-Rail, and it's removeable (6 Allen screws, and the whole thing comes off). One of my goals is not to ruin its usefulness as a utility trailer.

Update: Not sure how it will be as an "Overland" trailer, but it came in really handy (in the rain) at work yesterday. I've ordered a larger (10'x20') tarp. Should cover one side, over the top, and out to provide an 10' awning.

Update: Dropped the axle under the leaf springs. Lifted it about 4". Taller tires should bring it up level with the Jeep.

Tire Update: Turns out 33"x10.5" (will get eventually) are going to require new rims and bigger fenders. Not enough time to make it happen before the OTG Rally, but my current tires are shot, so I put on 235s (up from 205s). That will have to do for now...
