I have a love for the old abandoned bridges that are left behind. We find quite a few on our drives out to places around here

let’s see some of them!

I’ll start us off with the Carpenter’s Bluff Bridge over the Red River on the Texas/OK state line

This is that same bridge. It’s one of my favorites. I have spent many days under it. Those days were way back before soggy bottoms existed though. Lol

Ironically, I now live relatively close to it and haven’t been back over there in a long time

Well this will be fun. I'll begin with 2 shots I have handy.


The Perrine Bridge on Highway 93 across the Snake River in Twin Falls, Idaho.



An old railway bridge across Bitch Creek near Felt, Idaho. The rail line has been converted to a Rails to Trails bike path. This section from Ashton to Tetonia is a beautiful ride through ranch land in sight of the western side of the Teton range.

This one is on the old highway 99 near wolf, ok over little river. The county demolished the first 15 or so feet not seen here to keep people off it. The stringers aren’t touching bank hardly, it will be gone one day I’m sure

We'll have to do a swinging and covered bridge tour some time! This area is full of both!

This one lane bridge is over Big Piney creek in Arkansas. At the left of the pic it meets the TAT.
