I was in the market for an efficient light bulb that would work in stock housings without going with a cheap HID kit blinding oncoming drivers (I don't want to be that guy) or doing a full projector retrofit.

I tried pretty much any high performance halogen bulb, but they keep burning much faster than the cheapest ones. There had to be an option so an LED alternative came to mind.

After a couple of weeks of calling PIAA, Philips and ARB USA. Looking at spec sheets and effective lumen outputs, I decided to give the IPF led bulbs a try.

For those of you who have H4 light bulbs (the most popular bulb) and are not happy with your dim lights, this may be an option.

I did a quick write up and installation on a second gen Tacoma. This will work on any H4 compatible stock housings given you have about 1.5" clearance behind the bulb.
