The wife and I (well, her idea actually) hatched a quick plan Thursday evening to get out of town for the weekend. We decided to head back up to a small lake we had scoped out earlier in the year.
I pre-packed the Xterra up Friday morning and we managed to fit into the "out of town in 20 minutes" schedule Friday after work.

We spent a great, and very lazy weekend at Macdonald Lake, about an hour and a half drive from our home. The lake is situated up above Peachland BC, at a bout 6000ft, and close to the Pennask Summit and where the Coquihalla Hwy cuts through the mountains.

Aside from a couple people staying at a small cabin down lake, we were the lone campers for the weekend. Just the way we wanted it. We had a prime spot right on the lake, and were able to enjoy what Mother Nature had to offer for the duration. On Sunday, we decided to drive further along the Brenda Mines FSR, find the Sunset Main FSR and follow that to where it connected to the Coquihalla Hwy. From there we simply followed the highway back to our Okanagan valley down below.

Nothing off too much in the way of excitement (well, except for our one overnight anonymous visitor) , a lot of lazing around , hiking the trail around the lake, playing with the mutts, crunching M&M's and sipping on beverages. All in all, a most excellent and lazy weekend.
