What are the clearance needs for the Alpine Loop? I drove part of it in a full size Chevy pickup about 20 years ago and it was pretty tame. But I didn't see the rest of it.

Mineral creek has a few spots that a little more clearance would be nice and with a full sized vehicle watch for traffic as it has very little spots to pull off. Other wise the whole route is very doable in any true 4x4 with low range.

I really can't wait to go back. I want to take my wife along and do some hiking and explore the Town of Telluride and take the gondola to the Alpine village.
It's about 5 hours from home so it would be a good long weekend trip.
