Hi All,

Heading out to Vegas tomorrow enroute to Zion NP with the wife for our anniversary. The plan is fly in to Vegas, pick up a rental, drive to Springdale, UT and hike the Narrows. After the hike, were truckin back to Vegas. So my question are, where's a good place to grab dinner is that area. Are there places along the way to check out?

Thanks!

Dinner places are now all over Springdale, you really cannot go wrong. The Mexcian place on the right side as you leave the park with the outdoor patio was really great. Narrows, bring two hiking poles or rent two, not the wood stick. Rent the water shoes, and socks. Worth every penny. Watch the weather and your timing in the Narrows. Long story but I am happy to be here writing this, and we could not have been better prepared or cautious. Start as early as possible. If you are staying in Springdale know the schuttle schedule. Get the first one in. Yes it will be dark. Have a great time. I will be there in about two weeks.

Looking for a nice place or something casual? Lots of casual places along the way. Something fun in St. George is the Chuck-A-Rama....after a long day you might want to fuel up!! It is what it sounds like - and lots of it!! For something nice, try the Painted Pony in St. George...nice dining.

Been to St. George a few time and really like it - we don't live there, yet, but have fallen in love with the area and have been to Zion. I agree that there are a couple of nice places to grab a bit in Springdale but might be fun to stop at about the midway point in St. George.

IMHO....YMMV.....

Thanks all! We had a unbelievable time hiking the narrows. After the hike we refueled in Hurricane, Utah at TJ’s Cafe. Great food and service however the dining locals made us feel “unwelcomed” by their constant stares. Unfortunate that my wife and I had experience this, but glad we did so we can explain to our 12 & 11 year old that racism still exists in this world.

Beautiful shots and a great hike, it sounds like!! I am also sorry for the reception you had but certainly hope it never chills you from going again or further exploration!! I'd love to explore the area anytime with you - I hope to live in the area (St. George) in the next year or two....the area is nice and the vast majority of the people seem very hospitable!! Safe and happy travels!!!!

Traveler I

#1 - I am jealous. I took my father and son to Zion in April this year and we loved it so much! I cannot wait until we take our next trip. I live in Georgia, btw.

#2 - As far as cuisine, check Yelp. I found a good Mexican joint just outside the park. Also, there is a good, healthy restaurant along that same road that has a good selection of beer.

#3 - Do Angel's Landing for sure. Good luck! It's a tough climb.
