I just put an RTT on my jeep renegade, but I can't use the ladder because of the shape of the rear hatch, and I can't push the tent further back and still open the hatch.

Has anyone seen an L-shaped ladder, or modified an RTT ladder?

They don't appear to be adjustable on the Roofnest Sparrow. It's a hard shell

I have it mounted farther back now, due to a trip this weekend, but it's completely blocked the rear hatch.

would you be able to mount a separate ladder to the tailgate. ive been trying to brainstorm how you could hook up the ladder but the only option i see is mounting the ladder directly to the hatch door. you might have to drill holes but that may be your only option.

I'm fine with drilling holes. Do you think that's something I could have custom-made?

hell yes. you could either do it yourself or find a guy that welds to make you something. if i were you i would look for a used tree stand and use the ladder off of it or something similar. if you go that route make sure you powdercoat it or even use truck bed liner for a rubberized grip finish.

Any chance you could post a picture of how the ladder hooks to the tent?

Have you considered looking for / at one of those multi position step ladders?

I'll get a photo after work today, but it's just two hooks at the top of a telescoping ladder.

I'll swing by Home Depot tonight and check out their options. I wish this had a side entry.

This is the reason the manufacturers went to the side mount systems for their racks

I think it's most common to be entered from the side of the vehicle not the rear. Every picture on their website has the ladder on the side of the car.
