I first want to thank everyone for the group.
I'm getting ready to start Overlanding and found this group. I love in Jennings, Louisiana and was raised in Glenmora, Louisiana just down the road from Kisatchie National Forest.
It was a WW2 base and prison camp. Dad said it was a city in itself. There is trails, roads, motor cross trails,as well as horseback riding trails. Mile of old concrete roads and buildings.
I'm wanting to start exploring the place and was wondering if there is anyone else that knows more about the place?

Hello and welcome to the OB family.

I just wanted to pick this back up. I live in Shreveport and I too enjoy Kisatchie. Been going there for years. Several months back I started putting together a route for me to travel and realized there was no overlanding routes in LA. that I could find. A few trails here and there but nothing continuous. So, I just launched a FB and You tube channel called Louisiana Overland Adventure Trail. It features the Kisatchie NF and is over 360 miles round trip with nearly 200 miles of FS Roads and trails. I will be submitting the route here but in the meantime you can go to our FB page and there's a link to it using GAIA GPS free map.

Hi Wayne!
I'm the same, looking for places (going to be Kisatchie in Louisiana) around home to ride and camp. LOAT (Louisiana Overland Adventure Trail) is an awesome follow on FB and YT.
Also, since I'm in North Louisiana around Monroe, I'm looking at the Ozark National Forest and follow OOAT (Ozark Overland Adventure Trail). Looks like lots of fun. Had planned on heading south and hitting Kisatchie this weekend, but doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate. Hope your enjoying Overland Bound!

Just found y'all on FB and YT! Love your stuff and hope to get to a ride soon! Wife has a LC250 that she has forbidden me to go crazy with and I'm not certain if I want to bring my '23 Tremor out on the trails just yet, so I've just found an '03 LX470 100 series to get started with. Following to see when everyone is getting out to ride and hope to make it!
