Hello all. Do you folks have any suggestions on where to camp on the Kern River? I’m wanting to keep my next trip to a couple hundred miles this time from a Friday to something like Monday. I would be in my RTT and would like to be pretty close to the river.

Thanks

I've gone Kern River many times when I lived in CA.

My recommendation would be to stay away from the river, as there are many many idiotic drunk knuckleheads closest to the river. But if you insist on being next to the river go as far upstream as possible. I've been to Limestone campground several times and it's a great campground, depending on the people around you.

I got so sick of the drunk loud idiots, and I started camping away from the River and dispered camp. My favorite is Big Meadow campground.
