KDSS alternative options

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. I was wondering if there is anything on the market that can be a replacement to help with articulation and sway as a replacement for the kdss system.

I was looking at the 4Runner market and I saw that there's a regular 4 by 4 edition and the off-road Edition. Being that the off-road Edition offers more features such as a Locker and A track system for off-roading. It also comes with the kdss system. Now when installing armor or lifting you are limited to the amount of lift you can put on a 4Runner because of it. I believe it's 2.5 Lyft is the maximum because it will interfere with the kdss system if you go beyond that. Now with some honor packages to help protect the rear axle you have to remove the system itself. Is there anything on the market that can help alleviate the body roll issue while having a high lift in armor on the rig?

Honestly, you probably wouldn't want to lift a 5th Gen much past 2.5" anyway. steering and drivetrain geometry gets real wonky past that point. As Brett.L said, the TRDPros do NOT have KDSS nor is it an option. Mine has a swaybar and it handles decent for the vehicle of its size.
