Hello, I'm Chris from South Louisiana. I just completed the High Water Mark Trail 2 weeks ago in my Tundra. It was a little tight in a few spots, but I made it the whole way. Bunch of scratches and ripped off a section of my rear bumper, but the big truck performed pretty good. I only put a 3/1 leveling kit and some 33" Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires on it. I have an ARE Z series shell on the back that I slept in. Just threw an Army cot in there. Pretty comfy for me. I'm on the lookout for an 80 series Cruiser or 3rd gen 4runner. However, my Tundra hasn't been on an "Overland" type trail yet that I couldn't make it through. So I'm in no hurry to retire it.

I raced Enduros and Harescrambles for many years on dirtbikes all over the country. I've also done a good bit of Dual Sporting on dirtbikes as well. Done a lot of sections of the Trans America Trail on the bike. Lot of miles in Colorado. I've done the Talimena stuff and have rode and raced a lot in Arkansas. Raced the Black Jack Enduro Circuit. I got hurt real bad racing on the bike in 2014, and the wife shut me down. LOL. Anyway, I've been backroading in the truck since. I have since sold it, but in 2015 I bought an 02 Land Rover Disco and built a sleeping platform in it. Went on a 5 week trip to Alaska, BC, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and through Colorado in it. Good trip!!! Taking my 10 yr old son with me for Thanksgiving break to do the Trans Am Trail starting at the beginning in Andrews, NC. Probably will only make it to the Mississippi River on this run. Next time we will pick up where we leave off.

Anyhow, I'm researching routes for the future. I'm specifically looking for the route of the Trans Ouachita trail in Arkansas/Oklahoma, would like to run that this winter. Also would like to do some of the stuff in Big Bend or other parts of Texas. The OAT in Oklahoma also looks interesting for next spring. IMG_3689.JPG IMG_3703.JPG So if you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

IMG_3785.jpg The current Adventure rig. I would add a winch, but then it wouldn't fit in my garage. So until I move, I have to be smart or rely on my group.

Ha! You like my fancy break away rear bumper.....

I was actually able to bend it back and used a 6" stainless hose clamp to secure it and cinch it up. I don't even believe I will replace the bumper now, just wait until it gets completely ripped off.

Yeah, in the short time I had it, it covered a lot of ground. I just got tired of constantly working on it. Just glad I held onto my Tundra while I had the Disco.
