Hello all,
Currently in Honolulu HI, we just bought our first Tacoma out in Oregon in preparation to move to Colorado Springs. In March we will be loading up the truck and driving east to our new home. I would love any tips, advise, and ideas of places we should not pass up on the trip. We will be traveling with a 1 Y/O so any tips with that would also be greatly appreciated.
Best wishes.

-Brandon

So are you starting out the adventures east in Oregon? Where at in the Evergreen State are you planning on starting... I ask because it makes a huge difference in what I tell you to get to Colorado Springs... I make the trip usually every other year to see my kids, so I know the roads pretty decent between the east side of the state to CS.

Looking forward to a change of scenery. Can’t wait to drive for more than an hour and a half and ending up somewhere other than where you started!

I’ll be heading out from Lane County, Thurston area. I was considering taking the time to drive up to Portland and along the gorge, but we may also drive over to sun river/ la pine area the night before our departure to spend some time with friends.

Thank you very much!

If going through the Gorge, Multinoma Falls is a must see stop. The hike to the top is only 10 minutes or so, but the views are timeless.
If heading through central Oregon the John Day Fossil beds are fun, Crater Lake, ect...
Once out of Oregon and into Idaho, there is a lot to explore heading north from Twin Falls to Haily then over to Arco and back to Idaho Falls. from Idaho Falls head to Logan, Utah and back to 84. Drive through Salt Lake to Provo, then head up US 6 to Price and on to I-74 to Grand Junction Colorado. If time allows get off in GJ and head on highway 50 down to Penrose and take Hwy 115 north into Colorado Springs.
