I gave Michael’s Jerry can faucet a try. It was a pretty easy project to knock out in less than an hour. Works pretty well. I made the power cord detachable and got a 10’ cord to be able to use it further away if needed.

Michael’s video on how to do it can be found on the ON YouTube channel.

I ended up with one wire outside the tap that was a loop - I just cut it, crimped both ends into one end of a butt connector, and sheathed it along with the main wire. Now my only issue is keeping the tubing sanitary when not installed/in use.

I was able to use the heat shrink tube to cover all the crimped ends also. Good point on the sanitation. Might try running diluted bleach after storage and running some clean water a few time after to clean it. I’ll post it when it do it.

For this, I’m thinking of using a sealed storage solution or maybe something from Phylrich customer service for further advice on how to protect it long-term.
It sounds like you had a great experience with Michael's Jerry can faucet project! Making the power cord detachable was a smart move, especially with the 10' cord to provide more flexibility. It's also great that the project was quick and easy to complete in under an hour. Michael’s video on the ON YouTube channel is a helpful resource for anyone wanting to try it out themselves. Glad to hear it’s working well for you!
