International shipping for rigs

I am wanting to overland in South Africa and bring my rig. Anyone have experience shipping their rigs internationally? Is it better to just rent?
 
Ive spoken to many on this topic. One person who knows on different countries and regulations is Robin from Gusto Overland on facebook. He helped me with shipping questions and he has traveled every continent. He saved me almost 750.00

His rig is a defender and i think they are on mile 50,000 on this trip. They are currently in Canada. They are great for information, but even better to follow the journey! I hope this helps and safe travels!
