US Northwest Inland Northwest Adventure Group- Eastern WA/North Idaho/Western Montana

Hello Everyone! Meeting in one week, Feb 12th 1-2:30pm

Pizza Factory
503 W Appleway Ave
Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814

Bring your rigs loaded up and order yourself lunch if you want it. We will be discussing the trip coming up on March 3-5th. We still need to settle Saturday nights camping location. I am really looking forward to getting out with everyone for some good camping! The rally point will be up in a couple days.

The meet up (2/12) will finish in time for everyone to get home to watch the Super Bowl if they want.

Anyone working on projects? I am working on adding a 270 awning to my rack. The challenge is with an iKamper it HEAVES out to the drivers side on its hinges as it opens to the passenger side. So one can’t place the awning too close to the tent or they will interfere with each other. So I’m mocking up telescoping mounts. The idea is to be able to tuck the awning up tight to the tent in transport, then slide it out 7” away from the tent to deploy the awning and open the tent. I am going to use square tube that nests inside of each other. I used this method for my privacy tent on a prior build and it worked well.

My progress so far

Went to Moses Lake for a refueler at the airport, then headed north through the Grand Coulee to Grand Coulee Dam and over Peter Dan road to Keller to work on a couple of school buses and finally back home. Don’t know if I’ll make it up with the rig or not. Water pump gasket went out so I’m tearing into that this weekend. Time will tell.

I came across these today

Great seeing everyone today. I think we are gonna have some great trips together.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions for our March trip. Once I get the GPS coordinates I’ll put up the rally point.

Sounds like you guys will be right in my neck of the woods, our farm boarders parts of Juniper dunes and I drive by the entrance multiple time per day. When you leave there heading for Palouse Falls you will drive through/past our farm for about 10 miles assuming you will be going north on the Pasco Kahlotus highway up to HWY 260/261. Since I can't be sure I'll make it I'm not going to sign up for the Rally Point but I will watch the thread to see where you end up camping Friday and try to stop in to say hi. What's your ETA Friday and do you plan to go play around the dunes Friday night/Saturday morning? If you're not familiar with the dunes I can send you pins of the different camping areas, there is a couple to pick from.

Yes! I would love some good camping spots there that I can direct people to as I think most will be rolling in after dark to Juniper Dunes. That would be really helpful.

We are using it as Friday night’s camp spot and in the morning people are free to check them out for awhile before we head to Palouse Falls. If you know any good info as a local I’d love to learn more!

When's the last time you got out and camped with a group?
We've got some spots left for our March 3-5th trip, come if you can and use all that gear you've got!

Looks like they are calling for some wind (15-25 mph) down here tomorrow and Friday. Hopefully it dies down by the time you all arrive and don't get sandblasted too bad out at Juniper. Rest of the weekend looks pretty decent for camping this time of year. I'm kind of surprised you haven't had more people sign up for this, should be a good early spring trip to shake the cob webs off. I'm still going to try to stop by Juniper Friday night or Saturday morning, wish I could swing it to make the whole trip.
