I’m planning my family’s first overlanding trip for spring break — heading out for a few days starting around April 14th from Fresno to the Lone Pine area. We’re planning for the Alabama Hills because of its easy difficulty level. However, I’d also like to try some more beginner/intermediate areas and was thinking of doing the Mazourka Peak trail from Independence to Big Pine and Papoose Flats. Has anyone ever done that trail? What should I expect?

Not much feedback here, lol. I did some more research on the trail, and while it looks great, it might be a bit too early in the year to do this. Temps. look to in the 20s at night and still a bit cold in the day. Also looks like snow up there. I think I'm going to abandoned this trip and try it later in the season.
