How To: Installing Midland MXT-500 in 3rd gen Tacoma

Hi All,

I’m curious about where you 3rd gen Tacoma folks mount your head units. I need to access it regularly, as that’s where the controls are. I’m thinking on top of the dash, but I don’t know how hard it would be to handle the routing of the wiring.

I have center console molle panels (example) that I mount my radios on, but I mostly use integrated mic controls. For the one radio that I need to view the face, I have it mounted on the drivers side or the console. This works okay fo AT, but the mic cord would be a pain for MT.
