Lot more room in there without the radio stack!
I rolled around in an M1151 frag 5 for a while, always thought it would be fun to strip the armor of of one with the better drivetrain and stiffer suspension.

They’re way better with no armor.

Was carpet a comfort choice? Did you consider bedliner?

Yeah, its got to be creature comfortable. The carpet is to cover up the layers of butyl, aluminum, and foam insulation.

I finally got the rack from the Tacoma modified to fit the GMV. The taco bed was longer and much narrower so I had to get some new cross rails. Everything worked out pretty well if I do say so myself.

I know this is an old thread, but I’m curious if you still have this truck? I’m debating about building out at the ambulance to a camper conversion. If you still have it, how is it running any long-term maintenance issues?

Hey Dave,
I am still driving it and using it as a family adventure vehicle. The only major issue I ran into was that the started ground some teeth on the flywheel and that needs to be replaced. I’ve got almost 8k miles on it.
