Years of reliable operation from my Tacos has convinced me that I need more pain and suffering in my life, so I bought a HMMWV. It started with the 3rd kid surprise and the need for a larger back seat, so here it goes.
M1123 A2 as she arrived from that horrible auction company who takes your money and refuses to provide service.

I want one.. but I feel like it would be a terrible daily lol
The Military version completely lacks any creature comforts, none at all. The seats are a horse hair pad, no carpet, no insulation, no radio, no padded anything, no soft surfaces. Getting one into a standard parking spot at the mall or any other store will be a joy, LOUD, stinky, and the list goes one. So no, bad daily driver.
But a really cool truck anyway. It will also be a great conversation starter everywhere you go.
Have fun with it, even with all its bad points, I would drive one if I could.

After replacing all the hoses, fluids, and rubber boots on the truck, she runs like a top. The truck has 830 miles on a rebuilt engine and 4L80 transmission. All but one glow plug was wrecked, so she smoked a bit. It makes a great can hauler.

Wheels and tires look great. How does it ride? I bet that truck would benefit from suspension seats.

Right now, hard. Those coils were meant for a Frag 4 armor kit. Corbeau Baja JP suspension seats and Cepek adjustable shocks are in the mail. After i get some weight on it ill decide if I need new coils.

Ah memories. Flying down the I5 in a softback HMMWV with the speedo needle well past the end of the gauge. By the time you get from Pendelton back to Miramar you could smell the burning vaporized oil :tearsofjoy:

I got the interior substantially complete
- Boat carpet
- Corbeau Baja JP suspension seats
- 4-point harnesses
- USB plugs in the dash
- Ram mounts for phone and tablet.
- Motorsports soundbar
Next will be figuring out how to make a tent rack from a Tacoma fit on a very short and very wide bed.

I’m digging the airbag sticker.

Lot more room in there without the radio stack!
I rolled around in an M1151 frag 5 for a while, always thought it would be fun to strip the armor of of one with the better drivetrain and stiffer suspension.
