Hey from the SF Bay Area.

I'm an Aussie transplant who's been living in the Bay Area now for about 2 years. Recently have bought a 4Runner and am keen to go exploring the back country. Have done a lot of hiking in the past but this is my first foray into vehicular assisted exploring. Cheers.

I was previously in Santa Clara but moved up to San Mateo this year. Was able to get up to Mendocino State forest a couple months ago to get a bit of dirt on the truck. Heaps fun - looking forward to getting out and doing it more.

What about yourself? Where around here do you tend to get offroad?

I live in the East Bay near Walnut Creek, and coincidentally I work out of San Mateo once a week. There are quite a few good trails in the Sierra Nevadas off of highways 4 and 88. If you let me know what level of difficulty you are looking for I can provide some recommendations.

I'm just getting started to be honest - the 4runner is 4wd but stock otherwise, but I've got a keen sense of adventure and have started to stockpile recovery equipment so I'd say I'm a beginner, but a keen one.
