I'm not new to traveling, even on dirt roads but I am to overlanding off road. As a young guy I did some "off road racing" in my old Baja VW in the 60's, yes, 60's! Things have changed! I have 3 rides, a stock '20 F-150 XL 4x4 5.0 with trailer package and Grabber tires, a stock '22 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, V6 and my new addition to build up just a bit, a 2010 Jeep Commander Limited, Hemi, mild 2" lift on the way, rails, bull bar, rack/basket with the rear ladder, when new shoes are needed I suspect it will get some KO 2's or 3's (2's were on my old F-150 and were very good). The Commander can tow 7400 pounds so, that easily pulls a 16 foot flatbed with a Polaris Razor 1000 XP (that I haven't had off road yet....). The Commander only has 126,xxx miles on it, lucky to find one in such "like new" condition inside and out, in Stone White and loaded with tech of that year.

Having 10 years in the Army I'm not new to camping, love the water and have fun with more guns I really don't need. I've been a HAM for over 20 years and getting back into that hobby as well, playing on HF and UHF with antenna setups. Looking forward to getting out there while I still can, old but not dead yet!

I'm sure I have much to learn and hopefully my experiences can help others, see you out there! 73's
