• Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Hello from Kansas

Contributor III

Hi, thanks for the add to join the community. I've been overlanding and camping since before I could walk, and just got a new rig to help get out into the wilderness.

1998 GMC Jimmy, A.K.A. the "Jimetta"
4.3/4l60/3.42 gears
ZR2 Sing away tire carrier

Santa was kind to me, so sitting in the shop is a RC 2.5 Lift kit, front axle manual disconnect, Bluetooth radio, and many fix it parts.

This spring:
the lift is going in
going to fab a new rear bumper to relocate the hitch higher for departure angle
go to 31x10.5s, swapping from the 7.5 to the 8.5 rear axle and re-gear to 3.73
build a prisnu style rack to replace the stock roof rack and crossbars
swap to an S-10 front bumper to increase attack angle
Big 3 upgrade with added rear invertor

Kansas... it would be nice out if it wasn't for the wind.
Kansas... it's not that bad.

Welcome... from Kansas!

I love wandering around Kansas because you rarely encounter other people.

If you want to connect with other Kansas folks, check out the Konza Overland facebook group.
