hello, and thank you for having such a neat forum,
completely new t over landing, but not exploring, ,have always enjoyed life and especially our wonderful pacific northwest, but the world is full of surprises, so hopefully i will be able to enjoy other amazing places..but till I can, would love to meet others here near Spokane,WA. who can share their experiences and advice on where I could grow ,learn and just enjoy places near Spokane ,I literally just received my xterra just over a month ago, She is my 1st rig that I can safely explore off road, I have always happily been a co-pilot on off road adventures and my other personal rigs were meant for paved traveling..:grinning:..my first time driving her was a trip following my husband to St. Maries, we explored the primitive roads to and around Avery,- as much as we could since most were closed because of snow- lets just say.. I LOVED IT! mind you I was a bit worried about my abilities, not her, and I still need to learn .. exited to meet, talk an learn from others..

excited, not exited, I was wondering why you might be departing, gotta love spell check

Exterra is a great choice, likely my choice if I ever want something more civiliaed than a Wrangler.
On the abilities thing. Be sure to leave a plan with someone so in case you get stuck in a snow drift, someone will know where to look.
THAT is the most important tool in my mind. Leaving a plan with someone you trust...... and sticking to that plan.

Hello , Welcome to Overland Bound.
I am the Northwest Director. @Sandpoint Steve is your closest member representative. Be sure to keep an eye on the Rally Points, Steve has a monthly conference call on the Third Sunday of each month.
To help navigate through the forums, here are some links that can be filtered by “Region” prefix. We are in the Overland Bound North America US Northwest Region (US Northwest for short).
Overland Bound Meetups- is where all member generated rally points are posted in forum format for discussion of Rally Point and other types of Meetups. A meetup can be as simple as a group getting together for coffee, a trail ride, or a full in expedition with other Overland Bound Members.
Overland Bound Trip Planning- is a great place to talk about planning a trip wether by your self or as a group.
Overland Bound Routs: Downloadable- is exactly what it sounds like. Search, or share your GPX files here with a description of the route and POIs.
Share your Overland Routes- is similar time the downloadable posted above, but doesn’t require you to share the actual GPX file.
Overland Bound By Region < North America < US Northwest- is where you can find regional members discussing local events, Overland News, and general topics. It’s a great recourse to mete others in the regions.
Member Maps- a great trip planning tool. It can also be used to send out messages to members near your location, or a location you plan to visit.
Rally Point- a tool used to creat Meetups or send out an SOS.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask myself or your member representative team. Again welcome and hope to see you on the trails.

Also near Spokane: I highly recommend the Kendall-Skyline road to the south. Did it last year in a stock Tacoma over a couple days in August. Epic views, easy to navigate route with great camping options and some great side hikes.
