Hello and Welcome!!! I have done the Georgia Traverse Trail from end to end about 6 times now. We go back and do pieces of it almost every weekend. It is a fantastic set of trails. I would start with downloading the .GPX files from the GTT website. The Georgia Traverse Download Page - GEORGIA OVERLAND You can import these into Gaia and it will show you the tracks as well as many pinned waypoints. The last update to this was in 2014 so the dispersed campsites are not always 100% accurate but it does give you a pretty good reference. Most of the trail is pretty smooth this year. There are some fun obstacles on the main trail in the Charlie's Creek Section just West of the Tallulah River Crossing. My personal favorite part of the trail for this time of year is the section from South Carolina (the start) to Helen Georgia. This is mostly all open with the exception of the small section at Dick's Creek and the East side ascent at Tray Mountain (both were still closed about 2 weekends ago where we were last up that way.) This section has higher elevation and keeps you out of the bugs and heat a bit. As you go west the elevation continues to drop the further you go. The best overall section in my opinion ends at Cahutta Wildlife Preserve just west of Blue Ridge GA. Everything west of there is kind of blahh.. I hope that is helpful. I put a lot of info about the GTT on my instagram: north40overland. Let me know if you have any more questions I can answer and have a great trip!!
