Will the app stay "live" if phone or ipad is connected to Garmin inreach?

Garmin InReach provides a slightly different service. Satellite connection provides:

1. Two-way text communications
2. An alternative method to GPS for tracking.

Similar to other mapping apps, we provide offline maps and offline navigation. This is possible due to the global GPS satellite network and almost every phone these days has GPS service. If you have no connections, you will be able to navigate offline, and have offline maps with OB1. This is an "Expedition" feature launching next month.

In order to have two way satellite comms, you will still need Garmin InReach, or other method.
