Anyone know if you can use the GPS functionality without the subscription? I found the Explorer will allow you to, but nothing on the Mini.

Unfortunately, according to In-Depth Garmin inReach Mini Review (2020) - HikingGuy.com it seems the InReach Mini will not work without an active subscription.
