Out-of-pocket was well over $5,000 (not including cost of hardtop). Includes Columbus Hardshell Rooftop Tent, Rhino Rack with Pioneer Platform and Ladder attached to hardtop all for $2,500! Assembled (stress-free!) and ready to be lifted from my Jeep and installed on yours. (Moving up to an Ursa Minor Top, so whole thing has to go.)
If you have a hard top already, you could sell yours for ~$1500 and bring your out of pocket to just $1000! No issues with any of the items. Cannot separate; Sell all together. Price is firm. Local Arizona or Southern California only.
**AUTOHOME COLUMBUS VARIANT ROOFTOP TENT**
Medium size sleeps 2.
57″ x 83″ x 12″
Ladder with zipper case
2.7" Foam mattress
[https://www.autohomeus.com/roof-top-tents/columbus-variant/](https://www.autohomeus.com/roof-top-tents/columbus-variant/)
(I paid $3400 + shipping and tax.)
Chosen for its light weight (125 lb), aerodynamic shape, low profile and maximum viewing ability from inside the tent.
Why I love it: Super simple to deploy yet unobtrusive enough to leave mounted year-round. Comfortable. Large windows. Great airflow. Spacious inside.
**RHINO RACK ROOF RACK WITH PIONEER PLATFORM AND MAXIMUS 3 MOUNTING SYSTEM**
Short (60" x 54")
(I paid $1320 + tax and shipping)
Chosen for it’s dynamic (300 lb) and static (900 lb) load capacity and super low-profile.
Why I love it: I can still fit in my garage and most parking garages with the tent mounted. The setup ads very little noise and relatively little weight to the Jeep overall. I hardly notice a difference in handling or mileage. It is SOLID and secure. I can still remove the freedom panels!
**MAXIMUS 3 LADDER**
[https://www.rubitrux.com/maximus-3-roof-rack-wrangler-jl...](https://www.rubitrux.com/maximus-3-roof-rack-wrangler-jl...)
( I paid $247 + shipping and tax)
Chosen to provide alternative access to the tent. In the end, Because this ladder is always ready it’s very convenient. No need to find a place to store it.
Why I love it: Not having to deploy a separate ladder is great. Anything to reduce set-up and tear-down is welcome. Nice to have second way to access tent if there are two people. It does look cool and is very practical.
**JEEP JLU HARDTOP (2018-present)**
