Flush basket for Smittybuilt SRC roof rack

Hello all...I have a smittybuilt SRC roof rack...

With the cross bars installed, my 2015 Rubicon will not fit in my garage...with the crossbars removed, I have about 2 inches of clearance...

For those not familiar, the cross bars arc upwards, here is a pic...



Because the cross bars are arched, the added height the bars will not clear the garage...so, I removed the crossbars...

I want to get a cargo basket, but the smittybuilt basket attaches on top of the cross bars..which would be even higher!

I do not need a “basket” as a platform will do as I can tie down..simliar to this



Does anyone know of a platform or a very low profile basket that is compatible with smittybuilt SRC racks? That mounts to the roof rack bars rather than the cross bars?

Keeping an eye on this as I have the same rack & am wanting the same thing. A flat platform or base if you will. Was thinking about unistrut & welding my own then powder coat but would also like to see if there are any other ideas out there. I know there is front runner platforms which look really nice but I am not about to pay $ 1500 for a platform.

Another thought I had. Not to sound to redneck ha ha no pun intended. Home Depot has 5’ x 8’ pre fabed wrought iron fence sections powder coated for around $ 70.00 take off crossbars & mount on the main rack itself. Just a thought. Looking into this also.

That dog may hunt!!!! A quick fix until a better solution presents...I will look into this as well...
